Olympics Stadium will serve as the centre for next NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters ? Tennis News?

According to the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters will take place at the Olympic Park from the year 2014 to 2016. They announced that Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre would serve as the ground for the future tournament.

The ITF always bringing outstanding tennis events for the physically handicapped individuals and the trend continued for more than 20 years at stretch. It is an enormous opportunity for all the spectators to watch the great sport. With the provision of great sport facilities, the audience and the players will experience the game to an entirely new level.

In a press conference, the ITF President, Francesco Ricci Bitti, told the media, ?We are delighted that wheelchair tennis will become one of the first sports to build on the legacy of London 2012 by using facilities. The NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters is one of the most prestigious events on the circuit, and its staging in London will help us in our efforts to promote the sport. After the spectacular success of this year?s Paralympics tennis event, British fans can look forward to the return of some outstanding athletes.?

In 1995, the first British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships took place for the first time in the courts of Nottingham. Ever since then, the Tennis Foundation and the LTA have organized numerous world-class wheelchair tennis events in England, proving to be a successful collaboration.

The tournament features eight elite tennis men and women. The project is taking place under the supervision of the UK?s Minister for Sport, Hugh Robertson. ?In an interview he said, ?This is another exciting, world class event coming. This is great news for wheelchair tennis and will help encourage people take up the sport.?

Due to this news, there is a massive project undertaken by the officials of the joint venture. The organizer are working to upgrade the existing state of affairs, which includes construction of new and advance community centres, schools, disability plans, educational centres and also involves the creation of a site for several national and international events for times to come.

This will be the second Paralympics event under the UK Sport?s Gold Event Series, aiding to establish a legacy of tennis in the Great British. The Inclusive Sport Fund is spending a handsome sum of money for the programme and this will serve as centre for the annual festival of disability sport for the year 2013.?
