Birch Communications is now able to offer business customers specially negotiated pricing for debit and credit card transaction processing. The MSP, which also provides IP-based telecom services for small and medium-sized businesses, has teamed up with Bank of America Merchant Services on business focused financial services solutions.
Birch provides managed communications and information technology services to SMBs in select metropolitan areas within 38 states in the U.S. Services include local and long-distance voice, broadband Internet access, T1, PRI, bonded T1 and integrated PRI. Additional offerings include mobile voice and data, email, web hosting, voicemail and prepaid services.
Communications services are usually delivered using VoIP technology on Birch?s secure IP network. The company recently announced a new branding campaign to focus on SMBs that may have only a few or just one location. The ?Branch Out? theme is meant to respond to the tools customers need to effectively build out their businesses.
?Birch is proud to work with Bank of America Merchant Services, who is the number one-rated electronic payments processor in the industry,? said Vincent Oddo, president and CEO of Birch. ?This is a perfect fit for Birch. By combining Bank of America Merchant Services? payment offerings with Birch?s reliable managed communications and IT services, including broadband Internet service, we will deliver solutions that drive greater efficiencies and savings for our business customers.?
Birch is planning to roll out a full series of new wireline, wireless and financial services as part of the initiative and through its relationship with Bank of America, which is also one of its creditors. Initial offerings include a wireless ATM solution for SMBs based on the Birch Breeze wireless data product. The ATM service will enable customers that have on-site ATM machines to transmit information wirelessly.
?Both Birch and Bank of America Merchant Services each are recognized as global providers of business services, serving small- and medium-sized companies,? said Chris Aversano, Birch COO. ?The financial transactions and communications services of our business customers are mission-critical, and both companies have a strong track record of providing business customers the personal attention and service they deserve, and require.?
Additional financial services products for SMBs will be offered throughout the year, and Birch also plans to launch a new wholesale operation known as Birch Carrier Solutions. The new group will offer voice, POTS, T1, ADSL2+ and other services to local competitive service providers.
?In Birch Communications, we immediately saw where our payment solutions could support the needs of their diverse customers, and we are pleased to enter this relationship,? said Dane James, SVP, Referral Partner Sales, Bank of America Merchant Services. ?Our dedicated relationship management team is focused on providing Birch and Birch?s business customers a robust and competitive set of payment processing options, featuring competitive pricing, high system reliability, simple account set up and outstanding customer service. The synergy of our respective offerings will deepen their customer engagement and generate breakthrough strategies. We?re looking forward to helping Birch achieve their goals for years to come.?
